A Patriotic Tribute
On May 23rd, Congaree Cares hosted its annual Memorial Day Celebration at the South Congaree Arena. This year’s celebration was especially special as this year marks the 250th anniversary since the founding of the United States of America. Though it stormed for much of the afternoon, nothing could dampen the patriotism that was showcased throughout the program. With appearances from Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, Dr. David Godbold of the Wounded Warrior Project, and musical performance from Soldiers of Faith, this Memorial Day Celebration was one for the books. Below are some highlights from this special day!
During the event, Congaree Cares was awarded the Golden Eagle Award from the United States Department of Defense for their support and acts of service for active duty soldiers and military veterans over the years.

While she is currently campaigning for the Governor of South Carolina, the current Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette made a special appearance and gave a speech for those in attendance.
